about

This is a one of the 1st songs I ever wrote. It's about running away to find a "better life out there". In my case, a better life was just to be someone warm. Dedicated to my bestest friend and hetero-life mate, Erin. Thanks for being the only person that actually packed up your belongings and ran for that better life with me.

lyrics

They never wanted it to end like this, only one more gentle kiss, before they'd go and feel the tear drops flow. Reality was harder than it seemed, worse than in their worst midnight's dream. Taking morning's light by its strong hand.

*(But) In their eyes there was a new sunrise to this once ended morning. When they left there was a new warning. There was a better life out there. There was a better life out there.

They walked away from it all even if the rise was after the fall. Going their way, no matter what people had to say. Life was too short to just stand still and watch that last petal wilt. So, with their feet, shuffling down this once dusty street. *

The journey was worth a million words. An open book to fill with sounds unheard. The key to life had been revealed. True happiness so full of freedom, led by a force all on its own. Another lesson that just had to be shown. *
